She Brings Light and Gifts of the Season
October/November 2004, acrylic on canvas, 36 x 50", by Jenny Badger Sultan
I wanted to work in an oval. Stones around, a bright, light-filled center with a merry dancing goddess. It was October-November and getting dark, and I wanted to bask in the warmth and light.
When she was done, I began to put in the offerings of the season, the Fall bounty--persimmon, pomegranate, guava, tiny eggplants, flowers, things that came to me day by day.
