Naga Embrace
2016, acrylic on unstretched canvas, 27 x 50”, by Jenny Badger Sultan
The Nagas, in their half-human, half-snake form, proliferate on the temples in Bhubaneshwar and Konark in India. They have a semi-demonic and semi-divine aspect and are seen as controlling many aspects of water, such as rivers, lakes and rainfall. This ia a companion piece to Naga Kama.
