Helping Mother
1975, watercolor, 10 x 14", by Jenny Badger Sultan
My father had recently died, and my daughter was a baby, and it was a difficult time.I kept sensing that there was someone behind me. One day, in imagination, I turned around to see who it was and had this image of a Mexican woman, perhaps a Mayan, dressed in a traditional white costume. She gave the feeling of great warmth, support and nurturing, which I sorely needed.
