This painting comes from a dream, May 10, 2014

I go into a building. There is a very tall room. One wall is glass and you can see outside. Lots of people are crowding around behind me. We are all looking out the glass at a steep hillside. Then I notice that the crowd beside me has melted away; only a few of us remain. The scene outside changes--it is dirt, with some trees and other plants.

There are some primates moving around on the hillside. They are very close to being human. They are doing all kinds of things--playing, having erotic encounters, moving all over the hillside.

Then there is the feeling (or a voice saying) that something extraordinary is about to happen--the emergence of a new being. This is different than the birth of Christ.

I watch as the dirt on the hillside begins to move and take shape. It’s not clear what it is. I almost anticipate that it is the head of a huge serpent and a human baby will emerge from it. I don’t actually see that, however, only the beginnings.
